"The Suitcase Method"

I was sitting at my desk in eighth grade waiting for the bell to ring for the end of my English class (I wasn't going anywhere because that teacher was also my homeroom teacher), when a brilliant new idea came off the top of my head. It was an idea for a new way to teach struggling students how to transition their essay paragraphs. Ever since telling Mrs. Kathy West about it, she has taught it to her students (and still does) and it got me a maximum score of six on the eighth grade state writing assessment. Mrs. West calls it "The Suitcase Method," so pack your bags; you're in for quite a ride!

Imagine that you have just left for a road trip when you suddenly realize you have forgotten something you need. What do you do? Why, turn the car around and pick it up, of course! How does this apply to writing? By "turning the car around," you mention your previous idea and then continue with the next paragraph.
